QAL Medical - Continuous Passive Motion (CPM) Devices

Quality Assembly & Logistics, LLC (QAL) purchased Otto Bock's Continuous Passive Motion (CPM) Manufacturing and Service Division located in Pickering, Ontario, Canada, effective April 29, 2011. The newly formed QAL division, which will manufacture CPM's, as well as refurbish and repair existing CPM's is:

CPM's are electro-mechanical medical devices, which move a joint through a prescribed range of motion for an extended period of time. CPM's are especially used immediately after joint surgery.

With over 25 years experience, QAL continues to provide ongoing services to some of the world's largest multinational companies, like GE Healthcare, Siemens Medical Solutions and United Technology Corporation (UTC). Sixty-five percent of QAL business is international, and the CPM's are distributed widely around the world.

QAL specializes in complex electro-mechanical assembly. They manufacture, repair and refurbish portable X-ray machines, MRI patient tables and other healthcare equipment. The CPM product line is a perfect fit for the organization.

Guy Meyerhofer, President and Owner of QAL, said that as a result of this purchase, about 15 jobs will be added in the Marinette facility.
